This is the one that surprised the industry. After more than fifty years of building big Class A coaches, Newmar introduced the Freedom Aire for the 2026 model year as its first compact Class C, sometimes called a B-plus. It rides on a Mercedes-Benz 4500 Sprinter chassis with a turbo diesel four-cylinder making 208 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, and it measures about 25 feet long and under 12 feet tall.
What makes it a Newmar is everything above the chassis. You still get the Masterpiece Finish full-body paint, Amish-built hardwood cabinetry with dovetail construction and soft-close hinges, dual-pane insulated windows, and Italian leather. Most compact coaches this size feel like a van conversion with a bed in the back.
